About Kodiak The Travel Cat

Meet Kodiak and Caleb — an adventure cat and the creator behind the stories, sharing life on the road and the work it inspires.

Kodiak The Travel Cat

@kodiakthetravelcat

Kodiak was born on a farm in eastern Germany and after a few years in Europe, moved into a van traveling around North America full-time. Even though I’d already worked in social media and content creation for over a decade, @KodiakTheTravelCat started for a much simpler reason: I just wanted a video library of his life that I could look back on someday.

Since then, there have been river crossings, adventure cat training, finding him at random times of the day just to say hi, full-time van life, Kitty City, and now original songs about his life. Through all of it, Kodi is still just Kodi—a cat who gets to explore the world, while I happen to have a camera nearby.

Caleb Harris

@CalebLivesOutside

I’m Caleb—Kodiak’s human, driver, camera guy, songwriter, and, as I’ve called myself since the early days, his manager. My work has taken a lot of different forms over the years, from video and photography to websites, digital marketing, content creation, and helping brands figure out how to tell their stories online.

These days, Kodiak takes up a pretty big part of my creative life, but I’m also the founder of TheDeck.Cards, a card game I created from scratch, and Pop-Up Nomads, a community for people living and traveling on the road. I've always had a variety of things going on all the time, but all of it seems to somehow come back to spending time outside, relationships with animals, bringing people together, and creating in whatever format feels authentic to the moment.
