Camping With Cats at Powder Creek Campground

A sponsored long-form YouTube campaign with Hipcamp built around how we choose campsites when traveling with cats. Filmed at Powder Creek Campground in Oregon, the video uses a real stay to walk through the things we consider for Kodiak—from temperature and space to wildlife, privacy, and the overall environment—while showing how Hipcamp can help us find private-land campsites that fit the way we travel.

Campaign Goal

Create a useful, story-driven YouTube video about camping with cats that showed how we evaluate whether a campsite will actually work for Kodiak. Rather than treating Hipcamp as a simple booking mention, the goal was to make it part of the real process: finding a private-land stay with the space, environment, and flexibility we look for when traveling with a cat.

Creative Process

The campaign was filmed during a stay at Powder Creek Campground near Beaver, Oregon. I built the story around the criteria we actually use when choosing campsites for Kodiak, including temperature management, room for daily walks, privacy from people and dogs, wildlife and plant hazards, property boundaries, and the overall soundscape. The production combined on-location narration, drone footage, iPhone B-roll, Kodiak walking and exploring the property, and an interview with campground host Brenda. The final video was structured as a practical camping-with-cats story first, with Hipcamp presented as the tool that helped us find a private property where those considerations could be evaluated in a real setting. Hipcamp approved the finished video without requested creative changes before publication.
