Kitty Waves
About the Song
“Kitty Waves” came from watching all the different moods Kodi moves through. He can be affectionate one minute, grumpy the next, full of zoomies, then completely crashed out—and that’s just part of who he is. The song is about learning not to take those shifts personally, but instead meeting him where he’s at and accepting the whole range of feelings that comes with being a cat. In my view, the song can also apply with regards to being human sometimes too...
Lyrics
Mr. Kitty Cat, why you actin' like that?
Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves
A purr in my lap and then a hiss like a brat
Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves
And all I'm trying to do is help you through your world view, Kitty Waves
Zoomies up, crashing down, all of it is still you, Kitty Waves
Mr. Kitty Cat, why you actin' like that?
Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves
Pet me, feed me, free me, then you're ghosting the chat
Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves, Kitty Waves
And all I'm trying to feel is that we're good when we're away
A grounding in my bones that everything is okay
No matter how far or how long we may leave home to roam
I promise you right here, right now, you will never be alone
Oh Kitty Waves
